19 Mar Quinton Hazell Sponsors Douglas Motorsport Ginetta Junior Scholarship Car For 2015
Ginetta is delighted to continue its partnership with Tetrosyl following the announcement that automotive parts supplier Quinton Hazell (QH) is the new sponsor of the Ginetta Junior Scholarship car, driven by rising young talent Stuart Middleton.
Fifteen-year-old Middleton, from Ashington, Northumberland, won his place on the now sold-out KICK Start Energy Drink Ginetta Junior Championship grid at the Ginetta Junior Scholarship in October of last year.
His inaugural year of sports car competition will see Middleton run as part of the Douglas Motorsport team in his distinctive blue and red Quinton Hazell liveried car.
Lawrence Tomlinson, Chairman of Ginetta Cars, said of the announcement: “We are delighted to continue our professional relationship with Tetrosyl. Both companies believe passionately in supporting the UK manufacturing industry and about constantly evolving our products. The Ginetta Junior Scholarship is just one of the ways in which we support driver progression and we are sure Stuart and Quinton Hazell (QH) will have a successful season together.”
Peter Schofield, Chairman of Tetrosyl, added: “Tetrosyl and its brands have long had a presence in national and international motorsport, from rallycross to Formula 1. The Ginetta Junior Championship is now a proven stepping stone for young racing drivers to make their way into the top tiers of motorsport, and we look forward to supporting Stuart in his first year with Ginetta.”
The sponsorship builds on an already strong relationship between Ginetta and Tetrosyl: Carlube, which is owned by Tetrosyl, is the official oil supplier to the Ginetta race series. Tetrosyl shares a vision with Ginetta when it comes to keeping manufacturing firmly within the UK and, given their already strong links, the company was eager to play an active role in the development of young driver talent.
The first round of the Ginetta Junior Championship will take place at Brands Hatch on April 4/5 in support of the British Touring Car Championship. It will be shown live on ITV4.
